Irascible pseudo-journalists frequently make mistakes, but this particular one wasn't a fault in fact-finding, it was something more grievous--a fault in ethical judgement. I felt that Lynx had essentially rejected a submission by writer/artist friend of mine for personal reasons and justified it by making the rejection seem to be part of a larger philosophical vision. In response, I did essentially the same thing, on a larger scale: criticizing his action in a FALF essay that justified my criticism by putting it in the context of a theoretically larger philosophical point. Regardless of the merit of my point (or his, which he's recently explained to me in a way which makes his actions sensible to me), this was a highly inappropriate response, and I apologize. The essay which started this whole scene has been removed, perhaps to be dredged for actual content and restored at a later point.
